What do I want to achieve with gorilla40?

First of all, I want to start with, why I picked the name gorilla40.com?

I picked  the name gorilla because I believe the gorilla to be the strongest herbivore on the planet and the most respected and majestic animal in the wild kingdom and also it’s  the animal with the most affinity to the build and genetic code of the human body.

I picked the gorilla, just because, it gives me the picture in my mind of strength and respect, if you haven’t seen “gorilla in the mist” with Sigourney weaver (highly recommended) the movie impressed me to the core with the alpha male protecting his clan , the hierarchy and the organization was unbelievable till to this day that movie has put the gorilla on a pedestal for me.

The movie stuck in my mind over the years and, yes I’m that old, and that brings me to the topic of 40 about two years ago I was going to start this website reaching out to you, at the time I just had turned 40 and I felt I had arrived to a milestone in my life and I wanted to share with the world what I had achieved in my 40 years of life on this planet.

By the way that’s not a picture of me that’s a gorilla in case you didn’t know.

I picked “40” the number because in my opinion it’s the age of do or die literally!! It’s a pretty big milestone in life. Now you are set , you have enough experience under your belt to take no shit from anyone but you are willing to teach all your experiences. Moreover, you have lots of tools and knowledge to make plenty more new experiences!!

I grew up in a single parent family for my developing years , my dad died at the age 42 of the very famous disease cancer and medical error. I was eight years old!! I’m 42 at the moment too and now I have reached another psychological milestone in my life, I have outlived my father whether you believe it or not, it has a certain effect on your psyche and the psyche of my mother.

To be more specific: I don’t know how it feels to have a father figure in my life. I did have a stepfather but we never connected; actually in my teens, we yelled at each other a lot.

So, now I’m a father of 2 boys which is exactly what my father had! I have a new life of responsibilities and teachings. Every day I re-live being a kid again! being able to see life thru my kids eyes; I’m able to play with them, teach them and this has made me realize that I had experienced trauma at an early age in my life. I think now when I look back that in order to preserve my identity I completely erased some of my childhood memories that I had shared with my father.

Now that I am breaking thru the barriers of trauma, I’m starting to get some memories of my life back. I believe that thru my cleanse process and my children‘s eyes, I’m reprogramming my self into what it would’ve been like to have a father in my life with direction and discipline. Also I miss him now more than ever, because I knew he was a good man. I knew he cared and loved us and that he was very focused in his work. Since then, my mother has reminded me and my brother over the years to always get checked out by a doctor and she has always been worried that we would get that disease.

This life event brings me here to this site and why I have created it:

I want to focus on life after 40, I want to tell you about a myriad of my experiences. I will have a few different topics every blog and yes it will be all over the place but it will have a purpose because this is who I am (my mentor Miles Beckler wouldn’t approve).

I just want to put out there my life story and what I’m going thru and just keep record on my website; also, I just want to  reach out and help as many people as I can!! If this people are going through difficult times, I hope to give them a solution to their problems. My mission is to hopefully direct you in the right direction and I can help you in achieving your goals

I’m doing it already anyways, because I’m homeschooling my children on different topic and I’m going to share what we learn on this site. When you teach, you are always learning so if you have anything that you want to learn but you are missing the foundational tool to achieve the task ask me in a comment or an email. I’ll see to it!!

I’m going back to my life story,  I moved here in Canada at the age of 15. My family made a decision to leave everything we had in Italy and move to Canada ( yes I was born in Italy and that makes me full blooded Italian ).

Most of my family lived in Italy at the time ( grandparents, cousins, etc…) and that’s where I grew up with all my friends; Suddenly, one day I  had to leave them, at 15 years old it was a pretty big change, which at the time it felt pretty exciting to embark in a new adventure but looking back it was a pretty traumatic event to have left my family and your roots behind. Plus when you are a teenager that meant to restart a new life with new friends.

After my father died, my stepfather stepped into the pictures a couple years later!

My mother was pretty happy and it was great to see but I never saw my stepfather as a father figure because I was still dealing with my loss. After a few years together, my mother and stepfather started to take fishing trips to Alaska to go fish the famous pacific salmon. When, they  came back they were telling us about the beautiful places they saw and the beautiful wild life every where and just the freedom and open space that they saw. They practically fell in love with Alaska and nature. They became really interested into have a vacation house around the area but after talking with a few friends and colleagues everyone suggested them to go to Vancouver, BC, Canada because when you are Italian you think of Canada as been a cold place and everyone lives in an igloo especially in Alaska.

Vancouver is approximately on the same parallel as Milan (the city were a grew up in). It was said by a few people that the two cities had similar climates. One fall they schedule their fishing trip in Canada and prepared to do a tour that involved exploring Vancouver Island and the West coast of British Columbia.

In the fall is when the salmon climbs the river searching for spawning grounds and the west coast of Canada attracts a lot of fishermen from all over the world to come and fish the 4 types of Pacific salmon.

The went fishing all along the east coast of Vancouver Island and finished their tour on the North side of the island, in the town of Campbell river. There they crossed the channel with a ferry and landed in Powell river at the North side of the famous Sunshine Coast.

At the time there were no major cities and it was all logging camps, diners and pubs all the way back to Vancouver. They had to make it back in 5 days to catch their booked flight back to Italy.

On the way down the coast they stopped at a diner for a bite to eat in Pender Harbour. A small little town nestled in the forest of the coast. While backing out of their spot the car got stock on a step that my stepfather didn’t see and they could not get out of the situation. They called a Tow truck and it took three hours to come and help them out. With such a delay they had missed the last ferry to go back to Vancouver.

Once the car was back on the road they continued driving down the coast and ended up in a town called: Sechelt. They asked around the few establishments that were open at the time for suggestions of where the best place to stay for the night was.

Everyone recommended the Driftwood inn, and they sure found that out in the morning. 

The plan they had made was to get up in the morning and try to catch the first ferry of the Sunshine Coast. They were planning to spend a couple of days in Vancouver to see and explore the city they barely saw.

So, they woke up early in the morning and went to the restaurant and were taken away by the the beautiful view and the place they has stayed at. The sunrise in the far distance was incredible almost like a picture perfect moment of a movie. The sun  came over the waters of the strait of Georgia and it was shining right thru the windows of the restaurant.

At that moment they realized that they had been driving all night along the beautiful coast of the peninsula. On that moment they decided to stay and look around the coast for another day.

On that same day they decided to go to a realtor office and take a look at some properties so that they would tour the island and at the same time get an idea of what properties were available.

On the first house they took a look at they were blown away by the view the location and the size of it and they laughed all the way thru the showing because they thought the realtor was showing them a million dollar house because a house like that in Italy would have costed well over a million.

At the end of the tour they inquired about the price and the realtor told them 225000$. In that moment their jaw dropped they stopped right away at the steps of the front door turned around and went thru the house for a second time and realized that it would be a great vacation home.

The realtor took them thru other properties around the Sechelt area but what stuck in their mind was the beautiful house in Redroof rd.

They made the instant decision to buy the house. That’s sealed the moment for our family life was about to change.

When they came back to Italy all they could think about was how could they move to Canada and got the wheels rolling towards the big move.

On July 14th, 1993 we became landed immigrants and that was when the Canadian adventure began.

at the time so they decided to go in take a look at Realty in the first I’ll stay so it’s the house that they bought obviously that looked at other houses the first one that they bought because extraordinarily at the time the dollar was very low and a house in Miami was equivalent to two houses on the sunshine coast so it was a pretty easy Brainerd to sell the apartment is that my stepfather had they bought the house with the extra money so at first they told us so let’s go and see what happens go visit and stuff so that was the plan but then Sergio I mean my stepfather who is getting is it getting fed up with this work and my mother she didn’t like her job either and so they wanted to build a better life for us in the future so on July 14, 1993 we decided to embark to Canada and so we became landed immigrants after a while my sister was born I was isolated there another language I was 15 not that good looking quite the trouble sitting in tomorrow making fun high school is 5000 buyer meant at that age but made it through I am gave up my glasses which was one of my biggest pet foods when I was growing up everybody was making fun of my glasses I start losing some weight fitness going to the gym exercising biking climbing rockclimbing what kinds of adventures everywhere and started getting a car when I got was 16 start to be more mobile guess what popularity came about the more popular is 39 hanging out with the cool kids starting me more excepted and I school came around lost one of my best friends in an accident and then graduation came in it was time to decide my mom was strongly for me to go to go to University so I did always listen to your mother she has your best interest for most things so I went to Capilano college at the time and I took introduction my first second year of engineering obviously I want in a field that I was more leaning towards with my skills in mind and thought process so I did two years and then I want to UBC University of British Columbia where I finished my engineer mechanical engineer in bachelor degree and that was an experience of a lifetime for sure school discipline sticking through her exams still have nightmares and also social life girls started came in the picture drinking lots of drinking and partying while studying have anymore of the independent life yes as Italians stay at home until they’re 2025Almost 30 and and then once I finish the engineering since I did a practicum in a couple of different company to pass the machine company and there’s a company I decided to actually yeah I had the time when I graduated there was no jobs in engineering very very few so I put a couple resume out even though with my experience and everything you know people companies were hiring within the company and I just wasn’t getting anywhere and also the job that I had it was a lot of computer work sitting around and it wasn’t like really what I wanted to do and saw a buddy mine comes up to me and he says he why don’t you start working with us we’re new company and we’re just starting to building we’re starting to building decks in the and so on so I said oh yeah sure why not and then I started my first day got their motorbike bus goes 03 loud I don’t think you can go anywhere with that motorbike in this job I was like oh is that how are you and bring your tools I was like tools interesting and then the first day we did this deck up in North Vancouver in Lynn Valley and we finish the project in about three days and then was it awesome I was outside we’re dealing with customers we are building and I was just constructive we started with a plan so I won’t I saw the whole price I saw the whole project start to finish and I just like an engineer in where you store to gets needs to go for approval revision and then the concepts on the concept don’t get made some of them get made and it’s hard to get credit score feels any satisfaction or motivation so after my first week I was so into it and in fact I went and bought my first set of tools and a truck it was a Toyota 1986 and so my journey began I started the growing from there working with the guy started learning the ropes and he said that he never seen anybody pick up think so fast not trying to be on my own drum but I picked it up pretty quick because I was so proud I was so passionate about it and I grew my company I started having employees in the meantime I am at my future love the love of my life and still to this day she still all my life front of him so I went and we wanted to start a family we got married wanted to start a family but the city was too big for us too many people too much too many rules mostly too many rules can’t do this can’t do that and he said well why don’t we just takeoff and at the time we were planning and building a website to sell seeds online because we thought the seeds we still think seeds are a commodity and it should be the true money this The true meaning of exchange not a piece of paper that burns all seem to burn too but not in the same way anyways we started a little farm in a little adventure we took off sold my place my wife saw their assets and we just took afternoon went to Oliver Bc and from there we started growing and farming we are animal husbandry and all kinds of animals pretty much every farm animal you can think of we had it but some Monica swindling RSP savings to go in and we started putting in money dollar after dollar and with very little returns hard work super hard work to the point that we were so tired exhausted stressed well all all this said our two children were born in the range of two years so we had to take care of them and so we wanted to scale down some more so and other issues with the neighbours and all the policies and all the companies that restrict the growth seriously restrict the growth that’s another topic of individuals and so we had at all we were fed up moved into a trailer small-town living the whole small houses and trailer houses was our our thing so that the kids were small enough that we could all fit in a 30 foot trailer and and we took off and bought a small piece of land so we traded a piece of land small boy or a small piece of land and start a farm in there in the meantime we stumbled across a book the change their life forever the book was called rational fasting my Hornell there at can you read the book in about three days it’s only 67 pages long not much but we were busy during the day so we were at it and night instead of watching Netflix and that boy that book connected so many darts it just kind of like our life passed over her mind and eyes and we just it’s connected the dots a while we done right what we did wrong in a lot of things came to the surface so we went and started exploring fasting water fasting and fruit eating and also we gave up pretty much meat all I want stare all those mucus forming foods all at once and I lost 100 pounds my wife lost 30 pounds we were pretty skinny I got to tell you yes I went from 240 to 147 it’s not quite 100 pounds but still it. Crazy my my moms when she saw me because we did that in five months do you want to sign up for a weight-loss program I guarantee you in five months you can lose 100 pounds easy no jokes aside technically don’t need to fast as much as we did I made a proper transition is better more beneficial but obviously were extremely worse so we didn’t things to the extreme plus when you come across like a truth the seals in your mind you just want to prove it and we sure did prove it all her problems start feeling away our health problems or are fatigues how are you name it like our outlook on life increased we were just able to spend more time with the kids not too much bothered us we have very little stress is we we started living off the grid and no bills and that went on for two years couple years after that we felt a little isolated we wanted to get back into the community and that’s when we moved to Osoyoos a little bit bigger community in the more we were in the middle of the forest it’s so since then we’ve been here and I always wanted to do this I always wanted to start a channel because I was looking at my mentors miles backers one of them top one incredible motivator if you want to do this you should watch a couple of his videos he tells you spells you out what you should do and I just figured it out today that’s why am writing this doesn’t matter as long as I put content so this is what I’m doing I’m telling my life story and then what I do in a day what kinds of things I fix and will kinds of things I build and hopefully I can reach as many people as I can for the great Internet and help you out help anyone out anyone wants to be helped her get to refer to this website I welcome you thank you for for listening and reading soon I will put out a YouTube channel that describes this if you’re more video intent or an audio podcast if you’re more into listening OK well thank you for reading and hopefully I can see you again and don’t forget to sign up for my email list subscriptions I’ll check I’ll keep you updated with all news everything that comes up topics and topics cold topics anything that you can think of please make suggestions comments and let me know what you think OK talk to you soon wow
